"These acts of mass murder were intended to frighten our nation into chaos and retreat. But they have failed. Our country is strong. A great people has been moved to defend a great nation."
— President George W. Bush
The terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, changed America and the lives of Americans forever. Our Cadre conduct 9/11 Commemorative events around the country to honor and remember those we lost: the courageous First Responders and the soldiers who fought in the Global War on Terrorism. Cadre and all willing participants will share their 9/11 story: where were you, how did it change your life? Never Forget.
This Tough is part of the 9/11 + Horse Soldier Double Tough Series. Participants that complete both Tough events will earn the coveted 9/11 + Horse Soldier Double Tough Patch.
Belman grew up in Washington, DC, joining the Army as a “college E-4” after watching the Gulf War unfold on CNN. That decision led to him serving with the 75th Ranger Regiment, where he participated in the battle that formed the basis for the movie Black Hawk Down. In his last role there, he led development of a training program and SOPs for the 3/75 Combat Search and Rescue teams.
Belman lives with his family in Nashville, TN, where his calendar outside of GORUCK involves a healthy mix of travel, youth baseball, and not playing golf.
