LORD OF THE RINGS TOUGH

An ancient Ring thought lost for centuries has been found, and through a strange twist of fate has been given to a small Hobbit named Frodo. When Gandalf discovers the Ring is in fact the One Ring of the Dark Lord Sauron, Frodo must make an epic quest to the Cracks of Doom in order to destroy it. However, he does not go alone. He is joined by Gandalf, Legolas the elf, Gimli the Dwarf, Aragorn, Boromir, and his three Hobbit friends Merry, Pippin, and Samwise. Through mountains, snow, darkness, forests, rivers and plains, facing evil and danger at every corner the Fellowship of the Ring must go. Their quest to destroy the One Ring is the only hope for the end of the Dark Lords reign.

This event will pay tribute to J. R. R. Tolkien’s modern fantasy classic The Lord of the Rings. The Lord of the Rings is an epic high fantasy novel by the English author and scholar J. R. R. Tolkien. Set in Middle-earth, the world at some distant time in the past, the story began as a sequel to Tolkien's 1937 children's book The Hobbit, but eventually developed into a much larger work. Written in stages between 1937 and 1949, The Lord of the Rings is one of the best-selling books ever written, with over 150 million copies sold. During this Challenge, you and your team will learn about and discuss the all things Lord of The Rings and The Hobbit. Participants are requested to read the books and be prepared to brief the class on different aspects and characters of the books. Participants who finish this event will receive the unique Lord Of The Ring patch for the Tough, The Hobbit patch for the Basic and the coveted Middle Earth patch for doing both events which is always earned and never sold.
