GORUCK SHOOTER - LEVEL 7
Rucking, Pistol Combat Shooting, Rucking, Close Contact Rifle Engagements and Ruck PT.
GORUCK Shooter is an evaluation of your ability to perform pistol and rifle marksmanship under stress in a competition setting. Competition breeds excellence; you will be ranked among the other shooters and be evaluated on a pass/fail basis. The expectation is that at a minimum you can run a 10K with 45LBs on your back, assemble your weapon, and engage targets with a high level of accuracy. There is also a memory component to the course of live firing, weapons manipulation, and moving and shooting. If you meet the standards for both platforms, you will be awarded the coveted leather GORUCK Shooter patch.
MINIMUM ENTRY FIREARM REQUIREMENTS
Must be very comfortable being safe and accurate under extreme stress with both firearm platforms. Participants must also be able to assemble your weapons under duress and engage targets while moving, changing magazines, and immediately after fatigue with an elevated heart rate.
PATCHING REQUIREMENT
Start times will be staggered in waves. You will ruck a 5k in under 45 min. for the pistol portion and a 10k in under 90 min. for the rifle portion. Weapons will be staged at the start/end point of the route, where you will shoot immediately after the ruck. All courses of fire will be walked through and you will be provided ample time for gear preparation and ammo management prior to commencement. Cadre will enforce strict safety protocols paramount in all GORUCK firearms training events. Those who score over a 70% accuracy average and make the ruck time drills for both events will be awarded the GORUCK shooter patch. Those who do not pass can come back and try again at a later stage. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
- Firearms Training utilizes semiautomatic pistols, however, we offer custom classes on any and all small arms. Full-Frame pistols are recommended. Sub-Compact pistols are not recommended.
- SERPA-style holsters not authorized. Due to the nature of the training offered and the repetitive drawing and holstering of firearms, SERPA style holsters are not authorized for GORUCK Firearms training courses. If you do not have an alternative holster available, one may be provided with advanced notice.
- Keep firearms in vehicles. Please take care that when arriving at training sites, participants are not to remove from their vehicles or otherwise handle firearms until instructed to do so by the event cadre. In an effort to enforce good firearms safety and best practices, we would ask that firearms remain in vehicles until specifically told to bring them out.
- Shooters who display weapons proficiency will be challenged by the Cadre to increase their skill level by various methods. This will not have an impact on the overall conduct of the class.
CADRE HEATH
Heath is a US Army Special Forces Green Beret with 26 years of extensive overseas experience and expertise in Special Operation missions, to include Counter-Terror, Sniper, Direct Action, and Hostage Rescue operations. He planned and executed hundreds of successful combat missions throughout numerous deployments to Iraq, Afghanistan, Philippines Syria and other areas around the world. Currently, he works as a DOD contractor embedded within tactical units. Heath loves America, doing tough things, teaching tactics, and hanging out with badass Americans.
